![]() I’m on record as being a fan of “flatter” shoes (AKA zero heel drop, “natural motion”), and the ContourFIT has a traditional, taller heel. My only complaint with the ContourFIT is one of personal preference. FootJoy guarantees the ContourFIT to be waterproof for two years. I slopped through mud and puddles on a course that probably shouldn’t have been open, but my socks stayed dry. The ContourFIT also scores high marks for waterproofing. The replaceable Pulsar cleats are supplemented with rubber studs that gave me a very stable base, even in sloppy winter conditions. When it comes to performance, the ContourFIT is still a traditional FootJoy with a strong emphasis on stability and traction. With such an emphasis on pillow-soft comfort, you might have concerns about the stability of the ContourFIT. As expected, these FootJoys run true to size or a touch on a large side, depending on who you ask. My favorite feature, as someone who prefer low-cut socks, is the generous padding around the achilles which prevents painful blisters. Put it all together and you have a pair of shoes that you won’t want to take off after walking 18. The ContourFIT features a wide toe box so your piggies can spread out, and the Fine Tuned Foam 3.0 under your feet is soft and thick. These shoes are all about giving your feet ample space and more than ample cushioning. The biggest reason that the Contour has been successful is the out-of-the-box comfort, and the ContourFIT is no different. ![]() The ContourFIT is available in four colorways: white/brown, black/maroon, white/black, and white/grey. I particularly like their use of texture underneath the “FJ” logo. The accent colors are used sparingly, and the overall look remains conservative without being boring. Though the ContourFit has a more athletic-inspired appearance, they aren’t trying to be something they’re not. ![]() The most obvious change from previous generations of Contours is the look. The new ContourFIT seeks to build on that success with familiar comfort and a new, sportier look. When you pair the most recognizable name in golf shoes with tremendous comfort and a reasonable price, it’s easy to understand why. Introductionįun fact: the FootJoy Contour is the best selling golf shoe of all time with around eight million (yes, an eight with six zeros) pairs sold. The FootJoy ContourFIT golf shoe feels like walking on a pillow.
